Pupils design a house in five days with new work experience initiative
Two Westminster UTC pupils took part in an innovative, remote work experience programme where they learned how to design a house in five days. Launched by David Miller Architects (DMA), one of Westminster UTC’s partner organisations, the entire programme was delivered online through their ground-breaking Virtual Design Academy. The new initiative gave students access to sought-after skills, cutting edge software and expert guidance at a time in-person work experience wasn't possible due to the pandemic. During the carefully structured week, pupils received a crash course in Building Information Modelling (BIM), created sketch designs, and converted this into a 3D model of the house they designed.
